Vesicularity (phi) as a function of time for samples of natural hydrated silicate glass (obsidian) from optical dilatrometric analysis. Also numerical model for analysis of dataset and associated user guide.

Analyses of volcanic glasses from a range of oceanic islands (Samoa, Cook-Australs, Iceland) and mid-ocean ridges (Reykjanes Ridge). Each glass sample was analysed for the concentrations of >60 elements, using a combination of electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) and secondary ion microprobe (SIMS) analysis. Detailed analytical techniques that were used to produce the data are presented in Wieser et al. (2020) and Reekie et al. (2019).

A compilation of mineral and glass compositions erupted at Villarrica volcano, Chile, measured by electron microprobe. Data are sourced from published articles, theses and unpublished works. Minerals and glasses are from deposits erupted over the last 100ka. This Excel spreadsheet provides the composition of volcanic glasses (melt inclusions, melt embayment and matrix glasses) analysed as part of NSF-NERC grant "Sulfur Cycling in Subduction Zones". In the spreadsheet is a "readme" worksheet that explains each column and the method of data collection if applicable. These data will be included in future publications. The samples are taken from Central America, Alaska and Northern Mariana Islands.

120 samples of 57 tephra layers identified at IODP Expedition 350 sites (U1436 and U1437) were used in grain size analysis. Some layers have one grain size measurement, others have multiple measurements throughout the tephra layer.
