This dataset consists of Land Surface Temperature (LST) data with uncertainty estimates, from the MODIS instrument on NASA's Terra satellite. It forms part of the collection of datasets from the EUSTACE (EU Surface Temperature for All Corners of Earth) project, which is producing publicly available daily estimates of surface air temperature since 1850 across the globe for the first time by combining surface and satellite data using novel statistical techniques. The Level 2 Land Surface Temperature data in this dataset has been retrieved from MODIS Collection 6 L1B calibrated radiances, in the context of the GlobTemperature project, but new uncertainty estimates have been added as part of the EUSTACE project. This version of the LST dataset is v2.1 of the GT_MOG_2P product, with earlier versions produced under the GlobTemperature project. It consists of a complete set of LST and accompanying auxiliary (AUX) datafiles for the MODIS-Terra mission for the period 2000 to 2016. An equivalent dataset is also available for MODIS-Aqua.

Land Surface Temperature (LST) Level 3 gridded data products (UOL_LST_3P) from the Advanced Along Track Scanning Radiometer (AATSR) produced by the University of Leicester. The data consists of global gridded Level 3 product at a pre-defined set of spatial and temporal resolutions. The product provide AATSR-derived land surface temperature data and its associated uncertainty, as wall as additional auxiliary information. The gridded level 3 product has been derived from the 1km Level-2 AATSR Version 3 LST product (UOL_LST_2P). The Level 3 gridded product was produced under funding from the National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO).

Land Surface Temperature (LST) Level 2 data products (UOL_LST_2P) from the Advanced Along Track Scanning Radiometer (AATSR) produced by the University of Leicester. The data consists of a Level 2 1km resolution AATSR-orbit based product at a pre-defined set of spatial and temporal resolutions. The product provide AATSR-derived land surface temperature data and its associated uncertainty, as wall as additional auxiliary information. Level 2 products were produced under contract to the European Space Agency and constitute part of the official (A)ATSR multimission product from version 3 of that dataset. Funding from NERC and the National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO) also helped in the development of this product and enabled the production of the derived Level 3 products. Both products are NetCDF formatted. For further information on the formats of each of the products please see their product user guides.

This dataset comprises three gridded drought indicators based on remote sensing data for Europe. The data has a spatial resolution of 0.05 degree and a temporal resolution of 1 month for the period going from 2000 to 2015. The three drought indicators are: the Vegetation Condition Index (VCI) based on satellite product NDVI (Normalised Difference Vegetation Index); - the Temperature Condition Index (TCI) based on remotely sensed LST (Land Surface Temperature) - the Vegetation Health Index (VHI) which is a combination of VCI and TCI, calculated using MODIS products Full details about this dataset can be found at https://doi.org/10.5285/4e0d0e50-2f9c-4647-864d-5c3b30bb5f4b

This dataset consists in a collection of remotely sensed drought indicators time series. The data was extracted from CEH's gridded remotely sensed drought indicators product (Tanguy et al., 2016; http://doi.org/10.5285/4e0d0e50-2f9c-4647-864d-5c3b30bb5f4b), which has gridded data for Europe for three drought indicators: - the Vegetation Condition Index (VCI) based on satellite product NDVI (Normalised Difference Vegetation Index); - the Temperature Condition Index (TCI) based on remotely sensed LST (Land Surface Temperature); - the Vegetation Health Index (VHI) which is a combination of VCI and TCI. These three drought indicators have been extracted for European NUTS regions (level 0, 1, 2 and 3). These have been masked with a land use land cover map to be able to study different responses for various land cover types. A simplified LULC was created, with only four classes: forest, crop, shrub and grass. One extra time series was created for all classes together.
