This dataset contains daily soil moisture estimates measured using prototype cosmic ray neutron sensors. The sensors were deployed in a rain-fed site in the state of Goias, Brazil. Volumetric water containment measurements were taken hourly between August and December, 2023. These were combined into daily averages after correcting for environmental effects in the sensor readings. This dataset was created to study the potential for using distributed cosmic ray sensors to support data driven irrigation optimisation, supported by NERC (NE/W004364/1). The sensors were deployed in a centre-pivot irrigation site in the state of Bahia, Brazil, and measurements were taken hourly between June and December, 2023. The dataset includes daily averages of volumetric water containment, which have been corrected for environmental effects. This dataset was created to study the potential for using distributed cosmic ray sensors to support data driven irrigation optimisation and is supported by NERC (NE/W004364/1). This dataset contains annual growth time series for 296 tundra shrubs belonging to 7 species (Salix and Betula genera) collected at the following sites in Northern Canada: Qikiqtaruk-Herschel Island (Yukon Territory), Kluane region (Yukon Territory), Umiujaq (Quebec) and Salluit (Quebec). Each individual time series (raw measurements) is presented along with the species and canopy size of the corresponding shrub. Funding was provided by the NERC grant NE/M016323/1.

Datasets consist of monitoring data on ecosystem properties (17 variables) and biodiversity (21 variables), collected between 2003 and 2019 from the tropical peatland of the Natural Laboratory of Peat-swamp Forest special research zone in Sebangau National Park, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The dataset includes 23 data files. These data files represent results from comparisons of ecosystem property and biodiversity variables over space between new burn, old burn and unburned forest conditions, including: (a) effect sizes resulting from a hierarchical mixed effects meta-analysis; and (b) proportional changes resulting from a generalized linear mixed-effects model. They also include datasets relating to variability ecosystem property and biodiversity variables over time in relation to fire incidence within the wider landscape, including (c) time-series data for ecosystem properties aggregated by site and season, and occupancy detection matrices biodiversity for biodiversity variables; and (d) species richness and abundance estimates aggregated at the site level. This dataset includes stable nitrogen isotopes of bulk tissue (delta-15Nbulk) and compound specific stable nitrogen isotopes on amino acids (delta-15NAA) measured in harp seal (Pagophilus groenlandicus) teeth from Southern Barents Sea, Greenland Sea, Northwest Atlantic, and ringed seal (Pusa hispida) muscles from Canadian Arctic Archipelago and Baffin Island, in the Arctic and sub-Arctic. Teeth of harp seals from the Northwest Atlantic (n=48) were taken from archives in Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) St John's, Canada from 1979 to 2016. Teeth of harp seals from the Barents Sea (n=72) and Greenland Sea (n=55) were taken from archives of the Institute of Marine Research (IMR), Norway, from 1963 to 2018 and 1953 to 2014, respectively. Muscle tissue from ringed seals were opportunistically sampled as part of Inuit subsistence harvests. Samples from the CAA were collected in Resolute from 1992 to 2016 (n=66). Muscle samples from the Baffin Bay were collected in Pangirtung from 1990 to 2016 (n=39). The seal samples were collected as part of Norwegian commercial sealing and student field courses from the University of Tromso in Norway (Barents Sea and Greenland Sea) and the Inuit subsistence and commercial harvests in Canada (Northwest Atlantic, Baffin Island, Canadian Archipelago). Analyses of delta-15Nbulk and delta-15NAA of seal tissue were carried out at the Liverpool Isotopes for Environmental Research laboratory, University of Liverpool. Results are reported here in standard delta-notation (per mille) relative to atmospheric N2.
