This dataset contains information on the fertility and physical characteristics of kākāpō (Strigops habroptilus) eggs laid on Anchor and Whenua Hou islands, New Zealand during the 2018/19 breeding season. Of the 252 total eggs laid, 129 failed to develop; undeveloped eggs were dissected, fixed in formalin, and then inspected using fluorescence microscopy at the University of Sheffield UK. For all eggs, data are provided on mother and clutch of origin, developmental stage reached, and maternal mating behaviour. For dissected undeveloped eggs, additional data include fertilisation status, numbers of sperm visible on the perivitelline layer, egg size and weight, dry eggshell weight, and yolk and albumen weights. The resource contains experimental data collected at the Institute of Ecology and Evolution, University of Edinburgh between Jan-Oct 2023. Sixty (60) lines from the Drosophila Genetic Reference Panel (DGRP) were exposed to an orally acquired infection of the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Six to ten replicate flies for each line (60) and sex (2) were exposed. Total number of activity events were measured for each fly individually using Drosophila Activity Monitor (DAM), measured at 1 min resolution until death. Mortality was recorded as the last detected movement in DAM. Pathogen shedding was measured for each individual fly as the number of viable P. aeruginosa colony-forming units defecated by an infected fly for 24h following oral infection. This dataset consists of survival and heights of trees planted for forest restoration in South and Southeast Asia and the associated analytical code. The data consists of tree censuses collated from published studies, grey literature and data provided by co-authors, up to/including May 2021. Data are collated from 176 sites in areas where disturbance or clearance of the natural forest had occurred and where trees were then planted and monitored over time. The analyses included here model height growth, extract annual size-standardised growth rates and test the effects of biophysical and climatic conditions and planting regimes on survival and growth. This dataset was created to represent the current state of knowledge on forest restoration outcomes in South and Southeast Asia. This is the full dataset for the survival and height analysis.
