  • This dataset contains both the concentration of PM2.5 in ambient air sampled at a height of 8 metres and the concentration of water-soluble elements found in the PM2.5 samples resulting from the analysis by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). The PM2.5 samples were collected in the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China in August 2018 and January 2019. The data was collected to support the study of atmospheric chemistry and processes involving Silicon (Si) containing fine particles, which potentially contribute to atmospheric pollution These data were collected as part of the Silicon-containing secondary organic aerosols in ambient air (Si-SOA) Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) funded project.

  • This dataset contains monthly measurements of major and trace elements from 41 rivers around Great Britain. The samples were collected as part of the Land Ocean Carbon TransfEr (LOCATE) project during 2017 and they were analysed using Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). LOCATE was a multi-disciplinary NERC project that undertook coordinated sampling of the major rivers in Great Britain to establish how much carbon from soils is getting into rivers and estuaries and to determine what is happening to it. It involved the National Oceanography Centre, the British Geological Survey, the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology and the Plymouth Marine Laboratory, with assistance from the University of Lancaster, University of Durham, University of Hull, the University of the Highlands and Islands and the Environment Agency. • Elemental analysis of 80 soil samples taken in the Ningbo Watershed, in the Zhangxi catchment, Eastern China. Variables measured include As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, P, Pb, and lead isotope ratios along with concentrations of Zn, Ca and K. Data was collected in March 2016 and analysed at Queens Belfast University. The data was collected and analysed as part of a NERC NSFC funded multi project research programme UK- China Critical Zone Observation Programme.
