- Statement
- Data are generated by coupling a previously developed Global Maritime Transport Model (OxMarTrans) with a vessel database including fuel consumption. This enables the quantification of present-day fuel demand at ports globally. This is combined with trade projections for 2050 (compared to 2015) which are used to scale fuel demand into the future. The dataset provided is the end-result of this, with fuel demand at the port-level provided for each future trade scenario. Quality assurance is provided by comparing the global fuel demand estimates with other modelling studies, showing that our estimates compare closely with other studies.
