Statement

Methodology used to collect REE data is described in detail in Tostevin et al., 2016, Chemical Geology. In brief, a sequential leaching procedure was used on the samples, with the first 20% discarded and the next 40% retained. Methodology used to collect iron speciation data from carbonate rocks is detailed in Clarkson et al., 2015, Chemical Geology.
