- Statement
- Invertebrates were collected by standardised kick sampling methods. Samples were preserved on-site by adding 100 per cent industrial methylated spirit (IMS) to the sample volume. In the laboratory, samples were hand sorted, preserved in 70 per cent IMS. Major groups were identified and counted to species or genus for most taxa or to family in cases where taxonomy was difficult or larvae were insufficiently well developed. Results were entered into an Excel spreadsheet. Data was exported as a comma separated value file for ingestion into the Environmental Information Data Centre (EIDC)
