This dataset contains atmospheric carbon dioxide, oxygen and atmospheric potential oxygen data from the Cap San Lorenzo container ship. A Li-6252 CO2 analyser and Oxzilla II O2 analyser was used for measurement. The UK participation of Southern OceaN optimal Approach To Assess the carbon state, variability and climatic drivers (SONATA) was funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC, grant: NE/P021360/1).

This dataset comprises raw carbon, oxygen and hydrogen stable isotope data on water (precipitation and terrestrial) and plant cellulose from Empodisma-dominated peatlands throughout New Zealand. This data has been published in two open access papers: Amesbury, M. J., Charman, D. J., Newnham, R. M., Loader, N. J., Goodrich, J. P., Royles, J., Campbell, D. I., Roland, T. P. and Gallego-Sala, A. V. 2015. Carbon stable isotopes as a palaeoclimate proxy in vascular plant dominated peatlands. Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta 164, 161-174. Amesbury, M. J., Charman, D. J., Newnham, R. M., Loader, N. J., Goodrich, J. P., Royles, J., Campbell, D. I., Keller, E. D., Baisden, W. T., Roland, T. P. and Gallego-Sala, A. V. 2015. Can oxygen stable isotopes be used to track precipitation moisture source in vascular plant dominated peatlands? Earth and Planetary Science Letters 430, 149-159.

The dataset contains results of field measurements (temperature, pH, conductivity, redox potential, oxygen content) of groundwater and samples collection details as well as the results of laboratory analysis of the set of dissolved and gaseous parameters performed within the environmental monitoring campaign on 3 Polish shale gas sites where exploration activities including hydraulic fracturing were conducted in 2010-2016 period.

This dataset contains the raw X-Ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and stable isotope data, raw and processed, for samples from two different field locations, sample HR5 (Slag) from Harrington, Cumbria, UK (54.608278N, -3.570164W) and sample 22CCT1N6 (Ultramafic mine tailings) from Clinton Creek Mine, Yukon, Canada (64.457222N, -140.710833W). The data was collected in between 2023-2025. The XRD data was collected for the purpose of identifying mineralogy of the collected samples. The stable isotope data was collected for the purpose of identifying whether the carbonate minerals in the collected samples contained atmospheric carbon dioxide. The data was collected by John MacDonald, Charlotte Slaymark and Robin Hilderman (University of Glasgow) who retain the original data. Data underpins manuscript "The Widespread Potential for Rapid Formation of Anthropogenic Sedimentary Rocks" in press
