Water quality data from the River Wensum, UK, 2010-2016

This dataset contains riverine hydrochemical data generated at monthly intervals between 2010 and 2016 from 20 sites across the River Wensum catchment, UK. Data were obtained via manual grab sampling of river water from each of the 20 locations across the catchment, followed by subsequent laboratory analysis to determine concentrations of nutrients, carbon, major ions and suspended solids. Statement
All water samples were collected in the field by the authors. All hydrochemical data were generated by the University of East Anglia’s Science Analytical Facilities (https://www.uea.ac.uk/about/faculties-and-schools/faculty-of-science/facilities). To ensure data quality, instrument accuracy and limits of detection were tested every batch via certified reference materials, whilst instrument precision was tested via repeat measurements. Any analysis runs which fell outside acceptable tolerances for accuracy and precision were reanalysed after recalibration of the instrument. All data were checked manually for errors prior to acceptance.
