The data provided here are model iteration objects and rasters needed to run the multi-scale modelling process and predict how the host condition affects probability of Hendra virus shedding. The dataset contains predictions of three proxies for host conditions (including food shortage, rehabilitation admissions and formation of a new roost) across eastern Australia in 2008-2019. The Roost Species Distribution Model (SDM) has predictions of roost suitability. These are monthly, spatially explicit predictions of particular conditions or probability of roost occupations. The model objects are iterations of models that were initially trained on data held in figshare (https://figshare.com/s/ddb5a1584609b20f6596). These data objects are linked with code provided at https://github.com/hanlab-ecol/BatOneHealth to be able to run the models and analyses. This includes comparisons of virus predictions of seven different multiscale model structures to observed Hendra virus shedding in field surveys. The purpose of this study was to determine if quantifying and incorporating host condition into epidemiological models improves predictions of virus shedding in space and time. The data objects relate to the 1,000 iterations run of this process to better able to account for uncertainty. The data contain metrics of risk to earthworms, springtails, lacewings, parasitic wasps, bumblebees, honeybees and two solitary bees (Osmia bicornis and Osmia cornuta) from exposure to pesticides applied to arable crops in 5 Km grid cells in England every other year from 1994 to 2016. The metrics were derived from pesticide application rates and toxicity metrics from exotoxicology experiments. The data was derived to investigate spatial and temporal patterns of risk from exposure to pesticides for non-target invertebrates. This dataset contains 90 source footprints of nitrogen and sulphur deposition across the UK. Emission data from UK sources of nitrogen and sulphur for the year 2012 has been modelled using the FRAME (Fine Resolution Atmospheric Multi-Pollutant Exchange) atmospheric dispersion model on a 5 x 5 km grid. The data are split by into both wet and dry deposition, oxidised and reduced, as well as local vs long-range components. Habitat-specific deposition data are provided also for (i) forest, (i) moorland (short semi-natural vegetation), and (iii) grid average (average of arable, grassland, urban, forest and moorland land cover types). These datasets provide Concentration Based Estimated Deposition (CBED) values of sulphur and nitrogen atmospheric deposition for 5x5 kilometre (km) grid squares of the UK averaged over the years 2014 to 2016. The data consist of deposition values for sulphur, oxidised nitrogen and reduced nitrogen, and base cations. Total deposition is the sum of four components calculated separately: wet deposition, dry deposition of gases, dry deposition of particulate matter and cloud droplet deposition. Habitat-specific data are provided for (i) moorland/short vegetation everywhere, and (ii) forest everywhere. Additionally, the grid square average over multiple land cover types (i.e. arable, grassland, forest, moorland, urban) is also calculated. The habitat-specific data are recommended for use with critical loads for the calculation of critical load exceedances. The work in generating and compiling the dataset has been funded by the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) and various Departments for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) contracts. This set of data includes records of vegetation species and characteristics, soil quality metrics and aspects of management relating to a single field on each sampled farm. Data were collected in 2019, from farms across Great Britain belonging to the Pasture Fed Livestock Association (PFLA). The data were collected by the UK Centre of Ecology & Hydrology, during a project funded by the BBSRC, seeking to evidence the impacts of pasture fed livestock approaches on grassland parameters, in particular, sward composition and associated soil qualities. Full details about this dataset can be found at https://doi.org/10.5285/e46dc740-2dc7-4f9f-b2b6-24748d86759a

A detailed index into information relating to mining activity and hazards contained within select field notebooks held by the British Geological Survey (BGS). Two former National Coal Board (NCB) surveyors created the index in the 1970s by examining the historical archive of geological field notebooks held by BGS (at the time IGS; Institute of Geological Sciences) at their London and Leeds offices, and extracting detailed information relating to mining activity. The data cover England and Wales only, and notebooks deposited or produced after 1975 would not have been included in the index. Only notebooks containing information relating to mining activity (and associated hazards) are included in the index, so the data are mostly constrained to traditional coalfield areas, though all mining information included in the notebooks considered is included. Later data (after 1960) recorded on field record cards or directly onto field slips are not included. The indices are paper records, with one document per notebook. The documents are tables containing page numbers, an extract of detailed information from the notebook, and a reference to a geological map sheet, where applicable. The indices have been scanned and are held as multi-page TIF files. The spatial data (British National Grid 5 km or 10 km grid squares) and geologist name, notebook number and page number have been digitised and are held in the BGS corporate database system. This information can be used to identify the original notebook by reference to the BGS field notebook index. The index is an important dataset to be considered under the Mines (Precautions Against Inrushes) Regulations 1979 (PAIR).

This dataset provides deposition values of sulphur and nitrogen deposition and concentration values for ammonia (NH3), sulphur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) on the UK nature conservation protected sites, averaged over the years 2013 to 2015. The dataset also includes calculated minimum, maximum and gridded average values for each site. Protected nature sites covered are: (i) Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) (ii) Special Protection Areas (SPA) (iii) Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The data consist of values of nitrogen and acid deposition, and concentrations of ammonia (NH3) based on the Concentration Based Estimated Deposition (CBED), and concentrations of NOX and SO2 using the Pollution Climate Mapping (PCM) model. Nitrogen and acid deposition data is also given for specific habitat types including: (i) moorland/short vegetation everywhere, (ii) forest everywhere, and (iii) the grid square average over multiple land cover types (i.e. arable, grassland, forest, moorland, urban) These habitat-specific data are recommended for use with critical loads for the calculation of critical load exceedances using the relevant deposition/habitat type.
