This dataset includes temperature and precipitation depth measurements in 10 min intervals taken in 2 locations and time periods after forest fires: - Madre del Agua (Tenerife, Spain): 17/11/20 to 19/11/2021 - Thompson reservoir (Victoria, Australia): 28/03/19 to 13/01/2020 Data was collected using RainWise Rainew raingauges coupled to Onset HOBO pendant dataloggers (UA-003-64) to monitor environmental parameters related to runoff occurrence. This dataset describes measurements of transport of ash by surface runoff using a laboratory setup (flumes). In the experiment, three inflow rates (0.25, 1 and 2 L/min) were applied to two typical ash depths found after wildfires (1 and 3 cm). Variables measured include ash depth (cm), inflow rate (L/min), runoff rate (L/sec), ash transport rate (g/sec), ash concentration in the runoff (g/L). This dataset describes sediment yields measured in three different locations and time periods after forest fires in UK, Spain and Australia: - Madre del Agua (Tenerife, Spain): 17/08/18 to 14/11/2019 - Thompson (Victoria, Australia): 13/05/19 to 14/01/2020 - Saddleworth (Manchester, UK): 03/08/18 to 30/10/2019 Data were collected using erosion plots and silt fences at hillslope scale to monitor sediment and ash transport during rain events. Magnitude and x and y components of surface speed on the Larsen C ice shelf, Antarctica. The datasets are annual means from 2015 to 2022 at a horizontal resolution of 100 m. The data are based on feature tracking of Sentinel 1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite data. The velocities were created to support a NERC-funded project investigating ice-shelf rift propagation, by Prof. Adrian Luckman. NERC standard grant NE/T008016/1.

The datasets are output from a flow-line model designed to estimate the age and surface origin for various ice bodies identified within hot-water drilled boreholes on Larsen C Ice Shelf (Hubbard et al., 2016, Ashmore et al., 2017). Two trajectories, based on remotely sensed velocities, allow surface fluxes from a regional climate model to be accumulated and advected down flow from selected points on the shelf. Vertical strain rates are taken into account, and surface mass balance is converted to thickness according to density profiles based on borehole data (Ashmore et al., 2017). The model output has a 250m horizontal resolution. These data are part of a larger project. The flow-line model code, the SMB datasets, and the borehole density profiles are also available. The flow-line model was designed to enable estimation of the age and surface origin for various ice bodies identified within hot-water drilled boreholes on Larsen C Ice Shelf. Surface fluxes are accumulated, converted to thicknesses, and advected down flow from a fixed number of selected points. The model requires input datasets of surface mass balance, surface velocity, vertical strain rates, ice-shelf thickness, and a vertical density profile. This model is part of a larger project. Input datasets such as density profiles and trajectory vectors are available separately. Resolution is dependent on the input datasets. Funding was provided by the NERC grant NE/L005409/1.

Seismic refraction experiments were conducted in eight locations along a flowline originating in the Cabinet Inlet, Larsen C Ice Shelf, with the main purpose of estimating firn density profiles. The data were collected as part of NERC Project MIDAS. Funding was provided by NERC Standard Grant 'Impact of surface melt and ponding on ice shelf dynamics and stability', 2014-2017, NERC Reference NE/L005409/1.

Three datasets of melt season duration in days covering the Antarctic Peninsula for the austral yeas of 2017/2018, 2018/2019 and 2019/2020. The datasets are based on ASCAT GDS Level 1 Sigma0 Swath Grid data from the EUMETSAT archive (archive.eumetsat.int/usc/) and extend an earlier time series based on enhanced QuikSCAT and ASCAT data (doi:10.5285/e3616d28-759e-4cca-8fae-fe398f9552ba). The data are supplied as GeoTIFFs. Funding was provided from the NERC grant NE/L005409/1.

Surface melt onset, duration and end date for the Antarctic Peninsula from 1999/2000 to 2016/2017 at a spatial resolution of 2 km, derived from scatterometer data. Years 1999/2000 to 2008/09 are based on QSCAT data and 2009/10 to 2016/17 on ASCAT data. This work was funded by NERC grant NE/L006065/1.
