A survey of the extent and species composition of the deciduous woodlands of Scotland (including those with some admixture of conifers) was undertaken between 1976 and 1979, by the Institute of Terrestrial Ecology, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council and the Nature Conservancy Council. A census of deciduous woodlands in Scotland was made (as marked on British Ordnance Survey (OS) maps, 7th Series 1:63,360), between 1976 and 1979. A desk-based map search was undertaken in the first instance, followed by field ground-truthing. [This nonGeographicDataset is embargoed until March 11, 2026]. This dataset contains daily germination rates of temperate tree species’ seed under elevated ozone fumigation in a closed chamber system. Daily counts of germinated sees were made. The seeds were exposed to an ambient and +60 parts per billion ozone treatment for approximately one month in the winter of 2024. Species tested were Betula pendula, Pinus sylvestris and Picea sitchensis. These data were collected to examine the possible effect of ozone on timing and percentage success of seed germination. This dataset consists of survival and heights of trees planted for forest restoration in South and Southeast Asia and the associated analytical code. The data consists of tree censuses collated from published studies, grey literature and data provided by co-authors, up to/including May 2021. Data are collated from 176 sites in areas where disturbance or clearance of the natural forest had occurred and where trees were then planted and monitored over time. The analyses included here model height growth, extract annual size-standardised growth rates and test the effects of biophysical and climatic conditions and planting regimes on survival and growth. This dataset was created to represent the current state of knowledge on forest restoration outcomes in South and Southeast Asia. This is the full dataset for the survival and height analysis.
