ERA5 is the latest European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) global atmospheric reanalysis of the period 1979 to present. This follows on from the ERA-15, ERA-40 and ERA-Interim re-analysis projects. This dataset collection includes data on surface and model levels on a regular latitude-longitude grid in netCDF from : - a high resolution 'HRES' (31 km horizontal, 137 model level, hourly output) reanalysis model - a reduced resolution ten member member ensemble runs, including data from all 10 members as well as means and spreads - produced to provide an uncertainty estimate for the 'HRES' output. - initial release 'ERA5t' data - re-run model output for 2000-2006 to address issues for this period - ERA5.1 Note, the parameter selection for the data held in the CEDA archive is not the full range of available parameters. Users requiring other parameters or data on alternative level types should seek these products via the Copernicus Data Store (CDS) - see linked data tool resource. ERA-Interim is the latest European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) global atmospheric reanalysis of the period 1989 to August 2019. This follows on from the ERA-15 and ERA-40 re-analysis projects. The dataset includes data on surface, PV, potential temperature and pressure surfaces. Model level data available as GRIB formatted data on spectral and reduced Gaussian grids. Monthly mean of daily mean and synoptic monthly mean data are also available as part of this collection. Additional datasets derived from these data are also available.

This follows on from the ERA-15 and ERA-40 re-analysis projects. The dataset includes synoptic monthly mean analysed pressure level data on a reduced N256 Gaussian grid. Data are available at the 00, 06, 12 and 18 UT analysis times.

This monthly ozone climatology dataset was produced from a combination of satellite and ozonesonde data from 1966 to 1993. It was produced following the method described by Fortuin and Langematz (1994) and is used by the radiation code within the ECMWF IFS to generate the output from from ERA-Interim reanalysis model runs (see Dee et al. 2011 for further details). The ozone values are given in ppmv on 36 vertical pressure levels and 19 latitudinal bands. These are then internally interpolated to the grid used by the model before entering the radiation scheme. The 19 latitudinal bands the data are present are at: -90, -80, -70, -60, -50, -40, -30, -20, -10, 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 degrees. The climatology was originally produced by Fortuin and Langematz (1994) in response to the many GCMs at that time that used a prescribed ozone field. The aim was to generate a reference field with the required spatial and temporal coverage for use within modelling studies.

Surface level accumulated forecast parameters on a reduced N256 Gaussian grid from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECWMF) ERA-Interim programme. The ERA-Interim global atmospheric reanalysis of the covers 1979 to August 2019. This follows on from the ERA-15 and ERA-40 re-analysis projects This subset of the ERA-Interim dataset contains 34 parameters covering boundary layer, precipitation, radiation, wind, evaporation, run-off, gravity wave and surface heat flux data.
