GeoIndex allows users to search for information about BGS data collections covering the UK and other areas world wide. Access is free, the interface is easy to use, and it has been developed to enable users to check coverage of different types of data and find out some background information about the data. More detailed information can be obtained by further enquiry through the website.

British Geological Survey was contracted to undertake the survey on behalf of Joint Nature Conservation Committee. The NLV Polestar is equipped with a Kongsberg EM3002D dual head, multibeam system. Data was acquired using the Kongsberg SIS operating system, logging raw .ALL files. This data was processed offline by BGS using CARIS HIPS and SIPS 7.1 SP2. For final bathymetric surface creation the survey was split into two distinct areas; A and B. Backscatter mosaics were created using Fledermaus GeoCoder FMGT, file type: .TIF. See Report of Survey CR/12/100 for further information.
