- British Geological Survey was contracted to undertake the survey on behalf of Joint Nature Conservation Committee. The NLV Polestar is equipped with a Kongsberg EM3002D dual head, multibeam system. Data was acquired using the Kongsberg SIS operating system, logging raw .ALL files. This data was processed offline by BGS using CARIS HIPS and SIPS 7.1 SP2. For final bathymetric surface creation the survey was split into two distinct areas; A and B. Backscatter mosaics were created using Fledermaus GeoCoder FMGT, file type: .TIF.
