- Statement
- Point count of bird species carried out across 41 sites (20 restored, 21 unrestored) in the South Fork McKenzie River. Point counts carried out initially over 3 minutes and then a further 2 minutes. Birds were recorded as <50m, >= 50m, or flying over. Each site was attempted to be sampled twice but in 5 cases this was not possible due to field conditions (Points 5, 17, 21,22, and 23) Methodology based on the following field protocols: Ralph, C. J., G. R. Geupel, P. Pyle, T. E. Martin, and D. F. DeSante. 1993. Handbook of field methods for monitoring landbirds. General Technical Report PSW-GTR-144.
