Estimates were derived in a similar way to the Flood Estimation Handbook* approach. The data is measured in cubic metres per second, and is given on an unprojected resolution of 15 arc-seconds per grid cell. Catchment descriptors from HydroSHEDS, UN FAO Harmonised World Soil Database, and IMD rainfall products were used to estimate the 2-year flood at ungauged sites. Top-kriging was used to interpolate this to over 300 sites covering the state. Then a regional GEV growth curve was fitted to get other return periods of peak flow.
