Physiological responses of marine phytoplankton to acute and chronic thermal stress

These data comprise the physiology-based measurements made on the cyanobacteria Synechocystis sp. and Synechococcus sp., the pennate diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum, and the coccolithophore Emiliana huxleyi. A variety of experimental manipulations were carried out in order to investigate the mechanisms underlying thermally-induced physiological responses and various physiological traits were characterised. Statement
The data were generated in the laboratories at the School of Life Science (Colchester Campus), University of Essex, U.K. A visual inspection of the data was carried out on all analyses to ensure (i) values were within instrument ranges, (ii) mistakes have not been made in units, dilutions, calculations or dates, and (iii) transcription errors are corrected.
