Statement

The data were recorded using electronic data capture devices in the summers of 2013-2016 by professional surveyors. Data were recorded from up to 300 x 1km squares sited across Wales, selected by random stratified sample. The survey was managed by the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology. Standardised methodologies were applied throughout. To ensure confidentiality of the data with respect to land owners and managers, the locations of 1km squares and survey sites were converted to the centres of the containing 10km Ordnance Survey grid squares.
