Key fields in the dataset, many of which can be searched for, include, sample number, nature of sample, confidentiality, collector/donator & year, register details, locality information (including grid reference, map sheet etc.), stratigraphy, type status, identifications & authority and publication details. Museum Collection: Data input started January 2001 at the base of the Cambrian. Pleistocene not scheduled until ca. 2008. Survey Collection: Largely incomplete prior to 1980. Most recent material has National Grid Reference. Older material normally located by bearings and distances from one or more specified points.
