Prints, both negatives and positives of satellite imagery of the UK/World.
The database contains colour and black and white prints and negatives of satellite images of the UK and various locations scattered around the world. It includes data from the Landsat, SPOT, Radarsat and ERS satellites. Negatives include single scenes and subsampled mosaics.

- Supplemental Information
- Start date, 1972, based on launch of Landsat MSS. Data is continuously updated as prints and negatives are made as part of new projects. Update varies with project status and timing. Some projects do not require photo-quality plots. General information on the sensors the prints are proccessed from is available on the intranet at http://intranet/gisg/satellite.htm. Negatives are available to users. There is near-complete UK coverage, but worldwide data is scattered. Spatial detail ranges from 25 to 45 microns. Colour negatives are made from multispectral band combinations whereas B&W are produced from single bands of image data.

- Statement
- Imagery from different sensors is processed in different ways. Most are filtered and edge-enhanced. A print is written to disk and sent to a lab for printing. A print and negative is returned and filed in the remote sensing section.
