Update varies with timing of commercial contracts and BGS science budget funded research. Use of the PIMA is co-ordinated by Claire Cotton of the Remote Sensing Section. It is also used by Min&Pet. and Minerals. A booking sheet and general information is kept online on the intranet. http://intranet/gisg/pime.htm - this site is currently being compiled The data are captured at point locations with no specified grid. Some spectra have a locality but no spatial referencing co-ordinate system. The data have a patchy distribution. Data are held directly as read by the PIMA or as text files with reflectances captured every 2nm between 1300 and 2500nm in the case of the PIMA.
