- Statement
- Diurnal N¬2O flux and soil temperature data were extracted from figures presented in literature using a data recovery tool – ‘engauge digitizer’ which convert graphic presentations of data to numeric data. Diurnal N¬2O flux data were normalised to eliminate magnitude differences between datasets. Diurnal N¬2O flux datasets were further processed by identifying the times of highest, second highest, lowest and second lowest flux, as well as calculating the percentage of emission between certain 12-hour periods (e.g. 6am – 6pm) over the full day of measurement using trapezoidal integration, to categorise the diurnal N¬2O pattern of each dataset. Other non-diurnal factors were extracted from literature and recorded onto their corresponding diurnal N¬2O flux datasets.
