Mass balance and channel morphology data from an experimental river experiencing flood events
This dataset contains data that are meant to be used in conjunction with the “Digital Elevation Model of an experimental river generated in a flume under variable discharge conditions” dataset. There are three data files. The Sed_fluxes.csv file contains mass balance information i.e., the sediment flux injected in the channel and that collected at the outlet. The other two files detail the evolution of the channel morphology before and after each of the experimental flood events. Full details about this nonGeographicDataset can be found at

- Statement
- For the sediment mass balance data, the input sediment flux depended on the sediment feeder frequency. The sediment feeder was calibrated prior to the experiment. The sediment at the outlet was collected and weighed to estimate the mass balance. An estimation of the porosity was used to account for water content. The channel morphology evolution data originate from the analysis of the Digital Elevation Model experiment. The morphology of the channels before and after each flood events were compared using python scripts.
