Transfer of radionuclides to cow and goat milk

Data comprise radioactivity transfer parameter and concentration ratio values for gastrointestinal contents of ruminants (cows and goats) to milk. The derived transfer values and concentration ratios were originally reported in the Handbook of Parameter Values for the Prediction of Radionuclide Transfer in Terrestrial and Freshwater Environment. Technical Reports Series TRS 472 but now include newly compiled data for both goat and cow milk. Statement
The transfer parameter table for cow milk data published in the table has been created using a compilation of transfer parameter values in a dataset held by the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology. The transfer parameter values have been derived using procedures for data collation and reporting agreed by the International Atomic Energy Agency's EMRAS programme working group that compiled TRS 472 (IAEA, 2010). Quality control procedures were agreed by the working group to ensure that only data which fulfilled various criteria were included. The QC and data compilation procedures are briefly outlined in (IAEA 2010) and more fully in IAEA (2009). In the following IAEA MODARIA programme, further data quality control was performed, the procedures for which are outlined in the goat milk paper in Howard et al (2016).
