The data provided here are also provided in the supplement of that paper. To summarise, we searched earthquakes with a range of durations by (1) extracting and modifying the ground shaking observed in previous events and (2) looking for similar signals in several hundred days of seismic data. We assign durations by determined which of the modified signals best match the new observations.
