Trace element data for melt inclusions, Fuego volcano, Guatemala
Laser ablation (LA) ICP-MS analyses of olivine-hosted melt inclusions from Fuego volcano, Guatemala eruptions on the 14th, 17th and 23rd October, 1974. Full descriptions regarding the analysed samples are given in Rose et al. (1978) and Lloyd et al. (2013). References Lloyd, A.S., Plank, T., Ruprecht, P., Hauri, E.H. and Rose, W. - Statement
- Trace element data was analysed by LA-ICPMS/MS at the Open University using a Photon Machines Analyte G2 193 nm excimer laser system coupled to an Agilent 8800 ICP-QQQ following the techniques described in Reekie et al. (2019). Melt inclusions were analysed at varying spot sizes depending on the diameter of the inclusion. The surface of melt inclusions were preablated (3 laser shots) prior to analysis. Backgrounds were measured for 30 seconds prior to each analysis, followed by 20 seconds of signal and 50 seconds of washout. NIST-SRM 612 was used for external calibration of trace element data.
